Fuse is hiring a Research and Communications Fellow to support research and writing for our popular, multi-state Progressive Voters Guide program. This is a 2-month, remote contract position, with the potential for additional work in the future based on programmatic needs.
Job Description:
The Research and Communications Fellow will contribute to research and content creation for Fuse’s Progressive Voters Guide program, an important tool for winning critical campaigns and building progressive power in key states across the country. The fellow will be responsible for independently researching candidates for office and writing short summaries about their backgrounds and policy positions using the organization’s templates and style guide. The successful candidate will be highly organized, have strong research and writing skills, be comfortable navigating nuanced political situations, and work well with an experienced, highly collaborative, data-driven team.
Required Qualifications & Attributes
Work, volunteer, academic, and life experience are all acceptable
- Excellent research and writing skills, with demonstrated experience using clear, concise writing, preferably for a public audience
- At least three years of research and writing experience, with a preference for experience in political roles.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience navigating complex political situations that require nuanced decision-making
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, campaign-style work environment
- Experience using Airtable is a plus
- A passion for progressive politics.
Compensation
This is a temporary contract position that can be performed anywhere in the United States. The contract rate is $55 per hour, and candidates must be available a minimum of 20 hours a week, with a preference for full-time work that aligns with West Coast hours. This temporary contract position is ineligible for benefits. This role begins immediately and will work closely with the Research Manager and Co-Interim Executive Director.
